The Entrepreneurial Intention of Algerian Women (a Sample Study of Skikda University Female Students)

Abstract
The main purpose of this paper is to establish the existence of entrepreneurial intention among Algerian women, by investigating the relationship between factors that motivate female students to create their own business. The primary data were collected through a self-prepared questionnaire to assess the role of explanatory factors such attitude to entrepreneurship, parental influence (social pressure), self-efficacy, studying entrepreneurship at the university (entrepreneurial university education) and government support in the field of entrepreneurship with the dependent variable “entrepreneurial intentions”. A total of 254 female students from SKIKDA University, Algeria have participated in the survey. The data were analyzed using SPSS program. The results have shown that female students of SKIKDA university who are about to graduate have the intention to start an entrepreneurship project. The attitude to entrepreneurship, parental influence (Social pressure), Self-efficacy, entrepreneurial education and government support are positively related to entrepreneurial intention among female students.
